Joseph Angel Olvera, 54, a pastor at Lifeline Ministries in Fullerton, is accused of inappropriately touching the 18-year-old woman on two occasions. The teenager was staying at the church, which has an outreach program that helps troubled youngsters "get their lives back on track," said Fullerton police Sgt. Jeff Stuart.
The first alleged incident occurred Aug. 22, when Olvera is accused of approaching the teenager when she was in bed. Olvera allegedly put his hands under her shirt and fondled her breast, authorities said. A few days later, Olvera allegedly slapped the victim's backside as she was walking in the hallway.
The woman reported the incidents to authorities. Police investigated and found enough evidence to file charges, Stuart said.
A warrant was issued for Olvera's arrest. He turned himself in last week and immediately posted $10,000 bail.
Olvera has been charged with two counts of misdemeanor sexual battery.
