The man who was accused more than a year ago of providing Alex Rodriguez and other Major League Baseball players with performance-enhancing drugs surrendered to federal authorities Tuesday morning.
Anthony Bosch has been charged with one count of conspiracy to distribute testosterone, according to federal court records.
The documents state that Bosch willfully conspired to distribute the anabolic steroid testosterone from October 2008 through December 2012, but do not state whether the charges have anything to do with Rodriguez or any other MLB players.
Rodriguez bought human growth hormone and other substances from Bosch's Coral Gables clinic in Miami between 2009 and 2012, according to a Miami New Times report from January 2013 that sparked an MLB investigation.
The Yankees superstar was eventually suspended for all of the 2014 season and 13 other players were also disciplined by the league.
In addition to Bosch, nine others have also been arrested in the case, Drug Enforcement Administration spokeswoman Mia Ro said.
