Hawaii officials are bracing for Iselle and Julio, which are on track to become the first hurricanes to hit the islands in 22 years.
Category 1 Iselle is expected to hit Thursday evening and Category 2 Julio, which is traveling closely behind Iselle, is expected to hit over the weekend, according to the National Weather Service.
Iselle was last reported to be 345 miles southeast of Hilo and is moving toward the Big Island at a speed of 18 mph. It is expected to bring heavy rains, winds gusting up to 85 mph and flash flooding in coastal areas.
The hurricane was weakening at one point on Wednesday, but it has since picked up speed, the National Weather Service said.
Hawaii's Big Island is under a hurricane warning, while Maui and Oahu are under tropical storm watches. Public schools are closed on the Big Island, Maui, Molokai and Lanai.
Hurricane Julio appears to be stronger than Iselle right now, with maximum winds of 100 mph. It was last reported to be 1,335 miles southeast of Hilo.
Hawaii hasn't been hit hard by a hurricane since 1992, when Hurricane Iniki pummeled the island of Kauai, killing six people.
