Jim Furyk, Jason Day share Barclays lead

Seven times since Jim Furyk last won at the 2010 Tour Championship, he has had at least a share of the 54-hole lead.

Seven times he has failed to convert.

Saturday, Furyk gave himself another opportunity with a bogey-free round of two-under 69 that left him tied with Jason Day going into the final round at the Barclays at Paramus, N.J. However, this one is not Furyk's to lose. It's open for nearly everyone to win.

Furyk and Day were at nine-under 204, the leaders among 15 players who were separated by three shots going into the final round.

A few notable players were not among the top 15. Adam Scott, tied for the lead going into the third round, made only one birdie and shot a 75 to fall five shots behind. Rory McIlroy, going after his fourth straight victory, made an early move but bogeyed two holes around the turn to end up with a 70, also putting him five behind. For only the second time in six years, a 54-hole cut was used during the FedEx Cup playoff. Phil Mickelson, who shot a 75 for a five-over 218, did not advance.

Azahara Munoz shot a nine-under 63 to move into a tie for second place at the Canadian Women's Open at London, Ontario. Although Munoz tied the course record at London Hunt and Country Club to get to 16 under, So Yeon Ryu remained the tournament leader by four strokes going into the final round. Ryu had 21 birdies and one bogey in her first three rounds to move to 20-under 196 and within range of the LPGA record of 26 under.
