Terry Bradshaw did not take part in Fox's NFL coverage on Sunday after the death of his son-in-law, former Tennessee Titans kicker Rob Bironas, Saturday night.
The network released a statement about the Hall of Fame quarterback and longtime "Fox NFL Sunday" analyst's absence, saying, "he flew home to take care of his family."
Bironas, 36, crashed into some trees after losing control of his SUV on a curve in Nashville, police said. He was released by the Titans in March after spending all nine of his NFL seasons with the team.
Three months later, he married Bradshaw's daughter, Rachel, a Nashville-based singer.
One of Rachel Bradshaw's most recent tweets came on Sept. 9: "I love my husband so much. He is the most amazing man I have ever met."
Back in January, Terry Bradshaw missed Fox's coverage of the Super Bowl after the death of his father three days earlier.
"Heart-breaking day," fellow Fox analyst Howie Long said during Sunday's broadcast. "Terry was very emotional when he left this morning to go back home. Thoughts and prayers obviously go out to the Bironas family and to you, Rachel. We love you and we're thinking about you."
