Five residents were displaced early Wednesday after a large tree fell onto their apartment building in Duarte, damaging multiple units, firefighters said.
Part of the tree had already started to come down toward the apartments in the 1800 block of Huntington Drive on Monday, said Gerald Gonzales of the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
The rest of the tree came down about 2 a.m. Wednesday.
Three Huntington Oaks apartment units were damaged by the downed tree, Gonzales told KTLA.
The displaced residents, three males and two females, were not injured. All five had places to stay and the Red Cross was not needed, Gonzales added.
There was no immediate estimate of the damage to the apartments or when the residents would be able to return.
