Former professional baseball player Carlos Lee has parted ways with his mansion-estate in Sugar Land, Texas, selling the 9,117-square-foot residence for $1.56 million.
Lee, who suited up for both the Astros and Rangers during his playing days, had asked for as much as $1.9 million for the two-story Traditional.
Built in 1991, the home features hardwood flooring, wrought iron staircases and detailed molding on the ceilings and walls. Among its features are a chef's kitchen with supplemental prep kitchen and a master retreat with a bonus room. A media room and game room reside on the second floor.
Outdoors, landscaped grounds of more than an acre contain expansive lawns, a basketball half-court and a pool and spa. There's also a three-car garage.
The 38-year-old first baseman/outfielder played 14 seasons in the big leagues, making three All-Star teams and earning two Silver Slugger awards. He retired in 2013 with a .285 career average and 358 home runs.
The home last sold in March 2007, public records show. Cindy Burns of Martha Turner Sotheby's International Realty represented both Lee and the buyer in the sale, which closed in mid-October.
