U.S. stocks are opening slightly higher as the market bounces back from its biggest drop since October.
The Dow Jones industrial average rose 75 points, or 0.4%, to 17,607 as of 9:35 a.m. Eastern time Thursday. The Dow fell 268 points the day before, its worst drop in two months.
The Standard & Poor's 500 index rose 12 points, or 0.6%, to 2,039. The Nasdaq composite rose 31 points, or 0.7%, to 4,715.
The price of oil fell 23 cents, or 0.4%, to $60.70 a barrel in New York. Crude is trading at a five-year low.
Bond prices fell. The yield on the 10-year Treasury note edged up to 2.18%.
