If you just can't get enough of Hello Kitty, a recently opened tea house in Kyoto, Japan, lets you order traditional fare served with Hello Kitty flair.
At the Tea House Hello Kitty Saryo, bowls and cups are emblazoned with the 40-year-old Japanese pop icon. And she'll pop up in your tea, too, at the restaurant, which opened in November.
The Tea House Hello Kitty Saryo, a collaboration with parent company Sanrio, serves dim sum stamped with Hello Kitty and matcha green tea lattes with you-know-who's face in the foam. Cakes and other sweets are served too, starting at $3.60 each.
The tea house is open 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. daily.
Next-door to the cafe is a craft shop selling all manner of Hello Kitty memorabilia, including teapots, tote bags and clothing.
It's not the only place to get a Hello Kitty fix. There are many theme spots, including Hello Kitty Sweets in Taipei, Taiwan, and a Hello Kitty Cafe in Seoul.
For those staying closer to home, just a reminder that the 40-year retrospective "Hello! Exploring the Supercute World of Hello Kitty" exhibition continues in Los Angeles through May 31. It celebrates 40 years of products as well as contemporary takes on the feline character.
The show is on display at the Japanese American National Museum at 100 N. Central Ave. in downtown Los Angeles.
