After a three-week pop-up at the former Red Medicine space, David Féau is headed to Chinatown. He's bringing Coin de Rue, his French bistro pop-up, to the Michael J's Pizzeria & Bar space on North Spring Street, again for three weeks, on Apr. 16 to 18, 23 to 25, and 30 to May 1.
A bar bites menu will include peppercorn croquembouche with chicken liver and foie gras mousse; rabbit rillette with peach mustard country toast; artichoke gratin and gorgonzola dulce latte madeira; and rice flour cheese ravioli with pesto. Each is priced at $10 to $12.
There will also be a $49, three-course prix-fixe menu that includes raw shaved carrot salad; soft scrambled eggs, cabbage and sea urchin in crab bisque; clay pot-baked Alaskan halibut with chanterelle mushrooms; spring lamb stew with Medjool dates, rainbow chard, Picholine olives and potato gnocchi; and brown butter caramel ice cream with pretzel crumble.
And because it's a French pop-up, you'll be able to supplement dishes with more foie gras, pan-roasted frog legs and root bone marrow for an additional $18 each.
You can also add wine pairings for $20, and Garrett McKechnie will be on loan from the Raymond's bar 1886 to make classic cocktails ($12 to $15).
The bar will open each night at 5 p.m. and serve the bar menu until 7 p.m. Seatings will take place from 7 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Reservations are needed and require a credit card.
643 N. Spring St., (213) 604-3421.
